About Wendy West
Wendy West is a painter and mixed-media artist living along the Front Range in her native state of Colorado. She retired early from a career teaching young artists about the joys and challenges of translating blank pages, clay, paint and various found objects and scraps into expressions of their unique and innermost thoughts and feelings, and now spends most of her time practicing what she did her best to teach. Wendy exhibited in numerous galleries in and around Hartford, Connecticut throughout her teaching career, and has shown work more recently in the Denver area with Raw Artists at The Church and at 40 West Gallery in Lakewood. Her work has found homes with art lovers from California to Maine, and she continues to seek ways to capture the energy and beauty of the Light in her paintings and mixed media pieces based on nature, memory, life experiences, and the practice of yoga as a perpetual and grateful beginner.
