Breath of fire in yoga is a way to bring up heat, energy, possibly even inspiration. The word "inspiration" has at its roots "breath", or the "breath of the Divine". For me, yoga practice, walks in nature, fellowship with friends -- all these and some surprising other sources -- are ways to open myself to that Breath, to inspiration to live better, create more. This piece is constructed with layers of watercolor paper and tissue, pastel, colored pencil, yarn and beads, and a little pearly-white nail polish to create the stars in the night sky. The golden yellow column represents the Divine, the source of all of things.
