Crescent Moon is such a lovely, gentle and asymmetrical pose. In it, we feel the clean arc of the side stretch,
extending up and to the side to create the “crescent.” I created this 10” square collage with tissue paper, pastel, metallic pigment, and beads and yarn left over from my brother’s and mother’s crafting.

Wendy West is a painter and mixed-media artist living along the Front Range in her native state of Colorado. She retired early from a career teaching young artists about the joys and challenges of translating blank pages, clay, paint and various found objects and scraps into expressions of their unique and innermost thoughts and feelings, and now spends most of her time practicing what she did her best to teach. Wendy exhibited in numerous galleries in and around Hartford, Connecticut throughout her teaching career, and has shown work more recently in the Denver area with Raw Artists at The Church and at 40 West Gallery in Lakewood.
