A little world you could hold in the palm of one hand. Yet it’s got all the elements of the wide, windy beach it was gathered from — sand, the shell-homes of sea creatures, and the blues and grays of the sky and sea.
Wendy West is a painter and mixed-media artist living along the Front Range in her native state of Colorado. She retired early from a career teaching young artists about the joys and challenges of translating blank pages, clay, paint and various found objects and scraps into expressions of their unique and innermost thoughts and feelings, and now spends most of her time practicing what she did her best to teach. Wendy exhibited in numerous galleries in and around Hartford, Connecticut throughout her teaching career, and has shown work more recently in the Denver area with Raw Artists at The Church and at 40 West Gallery in Lakewood.
